ROBUR launches ROBUR Renewable Management Engineers GmbH – expanding its portfolio in the renewable energy sector

With the foundation of ROBUR Renewable Management Engineers GmbH (ROBUR RME), ROBUR is further expanding its position as a leading full-service provider for renewable energy sources. The aim of the new company is to develop holistic approaches for developing and managing investments in renewable energy. As Managing Director, it has succeeded in recruiting an established expert in the wind power sector, Kurt Stürken.

With the foundation of ROBUR RME, ROBUR is once again growing organically and boosting its focus on support for the ecological transition and the digital transformation of industrial services. ‘Ever since our foundation five years ago,’ explains Jan-Jörg Müller-Seiler, CEO and Managing Partner of ROBUR, ‘we’ve constantly been expanding our service portfolio in the renewable energies sector, and with ROBUR RME adding a holistic approach for investments in this field.’

The price pressure in the renewables sector over the past years, specifically in the wind and solar segments, demands active management of investments with regard to productivity, costs management and efficient increase in service life. This requires a broader approach to the topic of development and management of investments in renewable energies. Kyriakos Kosmidis, CEO of the ROBUR WIND business unit, underscores the fact that ‘thanks to his long, wide-ranging experience, Kurt Stürken has the perfect qualifications for developing these kinds of full-service approaches to the expansion of our service portfolio’.

Following senior positions at Enercon, Platina Partners, Senvion, K2 Management and, most recently, as Managing Director of listed project developer and investor PNE, Kurt Stürken can look back on more than 24 years’ experience in developing, financing, implementing and managing global investments in renewable energies, and is an established expert in this growth market.

Thanks to its intelligent linking of diverse competencies within the group – maintenance, servicing, engineering and data analytics – ROBUR is able to create its own independent, holistic portfolio and act as a one-stop shop for optimizing its customers’ investments.

REETEC reinforces ROBUR’s wind portfolio. A new part of the ROBUR WIND GmbH.

ROBUR WIND GmbH takes over the business of REETEC GmbH with effect from July
1, 2020 and continues the operations at the location in Bremen. With now almost 1,000 colleagues in Europe, North and South America, ROBUR WIND offers its customers the complete range of services for the long-term economic success of their wind turbines, on- and offshore.

APE Engineering becomes part of ROBUR - Strengthening the Group's automation and digital expertise

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2019, Niedernberger APE Engineering GmbH will become part of the ROBUR Industry Service Group. The merger strengthens ROBUR’s portfolio of services in the areas of automation and digitalization within the Group. In this way, it is meeting the requirements and needs of its customers in this range of tasks. Within ROBUR, more than 300 colleagues are now focusing on the challenges of digitalization, developing innovative automation solutions and shaping the future of German industry (IND4.0)

ROBUR announces SSC BALTIC WIND acquisition

Following the SSC Group and ROBUR’s announcement at WIND ENERGY Hamburg 2018 on their plans to merge at some point in the future, ROBUR now finalized the acquisition of SSC BALTIC WIND on 07/02/2019. The remaining SSC companies and ROBUR have also agreed to further cooperate, although any plans for closer collaboration have currently been postponed.

The new ROBUR company will begin operating as ROBUR BALTIC in the future, but it will retain the former SSC BALTIC WIND executive board.

ROBUR announces appointment of David Corbett as President of the Americas business

Munich/Houston, 8. Februar 2019

ROBUR Industry Service Group GmbH has announced the appointment of David Corbett, Houston, as President of the Americas business. This is an important further step in ROBUR’s journey to introduce its industry-leading portfolio of industrial services to the strong growth markets in North and South America. In the Americas, ROBUR will initially focus on expanding its infrastructure and presence for the safe and effective delivery of wind turbine inspection, maintenance and asset management services in these markets.

David Corbett joins ROBUR with an extensive and diverse background in asset performance management and related services. Most recently, he was CEO of a US-based pipeline integrity and asset management services company. Prior to that, he held senior roles in companies providing engineering, verification, inspection, testing and asset management services across the energy value chain and throughout the lifecycle of products and assets.

Corbett, who was originally a naval architect with roots in asset management for the British Navy’s nuclear fleet, is a chartered engineer in the UK and a licensed engineer in Europe. He has been based in Houston for 20 years and has led companies across the Americas in the development and delivery of high integrity / safety critical engineering services. He also brings significant experience in entrepreneurship and business integration. “The Americas is one of the most important and fastest growing markets in renewable energy generation. I am delighted to be joining such a highly respected service provider at such a pivotal time for the industry,” said Corbett.
